The Resort

1859 is when it began, and a rough and tumble beginning it was. Creature comforts were few and far between and when winter's snows buried the little town for months on end, only the hardiest could smile. Things have changed. Today, the creatures are extremely comfortable and those deep white snowfalls are welcomed by thousands of skiers from all over the world. The little Victorian mining settlement has become one of the most famous ski resorts in North America and it's easy to see why.

Breckenridge is known to be the oldest authentic mining town in Colorado with friendly, Victorian charm to match. During the Christmas break season, Breckenridge welcomes college students to its exceptional mountain. Above and below the timberline, the choices are immense: slopes or trails, bowls or glades, smooth or bumpy, down the middle or out of sight.

Four majestic, interconnected mountains, Peak 7, Peak 8, Peak 9, and Peak 10, three base areas, each accessed by its own high-speed four-person SuperChair (as well as 12 other lifts), over 2,000 acres of skiable terrain, all tower above a beautifully restored almost 150 year-old genuine Victorian town. Boasting an excellent mix of beginner to advanced ski terrain, Breceknridge’s Peak 7 offers some of the finest bowl skiing to the expert skier.

One of the truly great features of any Breckenridge trip is the easy access to several other ski areas close by. Keystone and Arapaho Basin are only a twenty minute ride by the free KAB Express. Vail is only 45-55 minutes away and shuttle cost is minimal. Your lift ticket automatically grants you access to Keystone and A-Basin with up to two days at Vail.

Off the slopes, free shuttle systems take you to the Upper and Lower Villages, Bell Tower Mall, and saloons and restaurants. Regardless of your Apres Ski preference, Breckenridge has many options to suit your taste; over 65 bars and restaurants, the most exciting nightlife, and the larges town of the four "Ski the Summit" areas.
