The Resort

Steamboat is the single most popular college destination in the world. Due to the great value, excellent accommodations, consistently great snow, and hot nightlife, Steamboat continues to be number one for college groups year after year.

The atmosphere in Steamboat is perfect for the large number of college students that invade the mountain every December and January. Steamboat is well known as the ski area with the cowboy atmosphere. The friendliness of the people is one of Steamboat's best selling points and certainly is a noticeable difference from other areas. Any vacation is naturally more enjoyable where people treat you like people.

During the two weeks before Christmas and after New Year's, Steamboat becomes the hottest vacation spot for college students from all over the country. As more and more students show up each year, it just continues to grow in popularity.

Steamboat's Mt. Werner is the second longest vertical drop in Colorado and boasts of having the most fabulous champagne powder anywhere. Almost 3000 acres of skiable terrain provide a wide variety of runs, some as long as 2 1/2 miles. Snowmaking covers 160 acres of trails giving Steamboat the necessary back up if Mother Nature does not come through like she usually does.

Steamboat is well known for being number one in early season snow. The December snow levels over the last several years have repeatedly been some of the best insuring a great ski experience for any December or January ski trip.
